Hello! A couple days ago, our internet seemed to suddenly get throttled. We pay for 1000 Mbps and typically get near there. As of a couple days ago, we are consistently at 100 Mbps download, but upload is still normal. The tech came out today and replaced the router and modem, and yet our speeds are still sitting at 100 Mbps. This is happening to both my roommate and myself, and we are both connected via ethernet. Does anyone have any idea what could possibly be going wrong?

Connect your PC directly to the modem and test, then plug another system into it and test again. If you both get 100mbps again, call the ISP back.

Getting almost exactly 100 suggests a faulty ethernet cable. And if it’s happening to both of you, it’ll presumably be the cable upstream of the switch/router/whatever that those computers are sharing.
