All the PCs in my house are connected with a cable. They all have normal download and upload speeds, except my personal computer. The download speed is normal as it should be but my upload is 0.1kbps to 1.5mbps but it’s usually in the kbps range. My PC has a Mag X570S Tomahawk Wifi mobo.
All the PCs in my house have those little boxes with multiple ethernet ports where you connect a cable directly from your router and then other cables go out to other computers.
I have tried swapping them since I have two of those boxes, it’s still the same. I have tried only having my PC conected to the box it’s the same result, I’ve tried I think every possible mix but nothing fixes it while the boxes are on. Only thing that has worked so far is for my PC to be connected directly with a cable to my router. Getting another cable to my PC so it’s seperate would be pretty difficult since I would need to drill holes and get a long enough cable.
I have contacted my ISP twice, they just reset my network, they sent an engineer once he checked cables and whatever and said it’s fine.
This all happened the day I started my new job, they gave me a desktop PC and I connect to their VPN and work from home.
I have no idea what the issue could be, I don’t know what else to do. If anyone can help that would be great.
If you connect another device with that same port and cable, does it work properly?
What is your upload speed normally? Copper DSL connections usually offer decent download, but they can’t provide much upload speed and it becomes very easy to max that out. Does work use Dropbox, One Drive, Google Drive, etc. to back up documents? If you’re maxing out an already slow upload then that would explain it.
Normally my upload is 10 Mbps. And my work uses OneDrive. Once I am done with my work I unplug my internet cable from the work PC.
It took this post 30 seconds to upload…
