Hello, I recently bought a HDMI 2.0 adapter, with HDMI as Output and USB C as input.

When I put the adapter HDMI into my monitor, then put the USB C cable into it, and with USB C cable end, nothing happens at all. It usually works for other types of HDMI, just no picture coming here.

It looks like the HDMI is output only so it will only work at the origin of the video signal, meaning your laptop.

You’ll probably need a USB-C dock of some sort to connect your monitor.

Hey I had this problem with my external portable monitor.

What kind of USB x cable are you using you vent use a normal one as it doesn’t transfer data at the speed enssecsry you might need to buy a USB c thunderbolt 3 cable which is designed for this.

Try to take it to the store and give it a try there if they let you borrow the cord.

Do you know that the usb port is good on the laptop? Everything looks bent so you might have a non functional port.
Maybe list the model of the laptop and the adapter. I have found that some laptops annoyingly dont support video output on usbc and some that need bios setting changes to work properly.

Are you sure the USB-C cable is capable of video and not only data?

Have you tried an active USB-C to HDMI adapter cable instead?

Some laptops also boost the power output on the ports when the charger is connected. Have you tried it while having the charging cable connected as well?
