Avast is absolutely rubbish and a massive resource hog. It’s basically scare ware at this point, always trying to scare users into buying additional features.

Windows defender is great these days, I use it as my main antivirurs and do the occasional manual scan with malwarebytes.

Avast does more harm than good. It works well but it consumes a ton of resources and makes your PC very slow.

Windows Defender, which is included for free with Windows 10, does an excellent job. It regularly scans your files for threats and protects your system.
