I’ve recently found an interest in 3d scanning and modeling and by pure luck was able to acquire a 17 years-old 3d scanner for free. The problem: It’s only got a VGA port, nothing else I can use to hook it up with to a PC. Mine’s only got HDMI ports. I’m not experienced in technology at all, but logically thinking it should be a bidirectional converter, right? The PC needs to send signals to the scanner and the scanner sends its back to the PC. Or is it far less complicated and a VGA->HDMI converter (or vice versa) would work just fine? I’m cluelessly scratching my head here… It’s a big old box (with surprisingly little information on it on the internet, basically none at all) but I thought I should give it one last long shot before I give up and end up getting rid of it like its previous owner did.

Just checked- the cable is VGA and the port is a DE-9 serial. I guess that solves the mystery. Thank you! 🤝
