Today I turned on my PC (runs Windows 10) for the first time in six months. I’ve updated everything Windows wants me to and now I’m trying to update my games so I can play them again. However, my download speed is extremely slow. Epic Games Launcher is showing a constant 0.00B/s and I’ve only downloaded 471MB in two hours. My PC used to be really fast but I’m confused as to why this download speed is suddenly really bad. I use an Ethernet cable and I tried running a speed test and got great results, I just don’t know why my PCs speed is so slow.
Any tips other than “update stuff and restart?”
Check if your network adapter drivers are up to date since your PC was unused for a long time. Also, verify if other devices on the network are experiencing similar issues, which could indicate a broader network problem.
Open your task manager and see how much data is being consumed?
Maybe something is getting updated in the background?
What does https://www.speedtest.net/ give you on your PC?
Have you tested on any other devices to make sure it’s not just your Internet? We know nothing about your Internet connection but there are things that could happen to slow down the entire service.
