Looking for: A device (if possible cheap, small and lightweight)
This device connect to a wifi (for example a hotel wifi) and create its own lan network (with wifi and a port ethernet)
I had such a device in the past (and lost it) so i know it exist. I just don’t know the name of it or a reference to buy.
I’ve recently bought a traditional internet tp link router with a feature called WDS bridging but it doesn’t work as intented.
The intented goal is i have all my devices (phone, tablet, computer) connect directly to this device.
Because it’s annoying to set the wifi password every time i travel for each one of the device. And also sometime, some devices doesn’t pick up the wifi well.
So by having this wifi device, i enter the wifi password once.
Important feature i’d like this device to have
1/ it should remember all the wifi password. Because my old device had memory for only one wifi entry. So as soon as i enter a new wifi password. It deleted the old entry.
2/ If possible it should have antenna or have a very strong signal reception.
3/ Have a of dashboard like most wifi router which is easy to use
4/ Button ON/OFF (not a press button) to enable/disable wifi.
I have currently the TP-link TL-WR841N (not small nor lightweight). i’ve bought it because i read on internet it could do wifi bridging but it doesn’t work
