I tagged hardware, but I really dont know what it is. I have a Pc that boots but I get no video signal at all. The lights in the Pc and peripherals all turn on, and the fans start running, but no video. Heres the weird part, whenever I go to turn on my Pc and this happens, all I have to do is turn the Pc off and wait ~10seconds before hitting the power again. The second time, it usually works and i get Video.
I have stage indication LEDs on my Mobo and I get through everything on the faulty boot ( CPU, DDR, VGA, BOOT), so its not showing any problems on boot, im just not getting any Video.
At First, I thought it was a PSU issue, and for another reason, I switched it out, and the problem consisted. Now, I’m thinking its the GPU, but im not really sure and I wanted to see if anybody could help me figure out whats going on.
Also, this might be related, but I have Power & Sleep settings, and Power Plan settings both set to ‘never put Pc to sleep’. However, whenever I come back to my Pc after an extended time (Don’t know exactly, usually during my sleep) The Pc is in the ‘No Video but lights and fans running’ state.
I mentioned that I can just start the Pc and use it as normal, but it really sucks having to hard power off everytime I want to use it. And im dreading the day that it just consistently boots to the No vid state.
Sorry the post is so long but I wanted to give as much initial info as I can, and I can provide whatever other info needed. Thanks!
This is a longshot, but go into your BIOS and look for a setting called “UEFI legacy mode” or something along those lines, and disable it if it’s enabled.
