Firstly I’d like to say that I’m sorry if this post goes against the rules but I’m in desperate need of help. Earlier today while I was sleeping my Instagram got “hacked” and the hacker posted bitcoin ads on my story and post something along the lines of “Thank u Musk” I forgot to take a screenshot. But the weird part was that when I logged in with my password, it wasn’t changed and I got access immediately. What’s even more weird to me that I did not open any links and entered my details so I guess I can rule out a phishing attack, so how can this happen. There was no history of new or unknown logged in devices as well. Also a few weeks ago my LinkedIn was hacked in a same fashion, completely out of nowhere and the hacker got the codes which were sent on Gmail as well, but there was no security warning on my Gmail and there was only one session active which was mine. I changed all my passwords but could someone help me out with this and am I at risk of getting hacked again?

If they have access to your email, they can delete the emails before you notice them.

Assume you’re infected. Reset your devices, starting with your phone.

Using a newly reset device, change all of your passwords. Do not log back in to any accounts on an untrustworthy device - they’ll get your new password that way.

Set up 2FA going to your newly reset phone for every account that you can. It most important that you protect your email account with 2FA, since it’s the “keys to the kingdom.” If someone has access to your email, they can just reset the passwords on most of your other accounts.
