lets say im playing a game on my pc but its max performance is 120 fps, but im playing on a 240hz monitor. Is this bad for the pc? Like overheating the graphics card because maybe the pc is trying to push more than 120fps?

Not at all. The GPU will push as many frames as it can – that is literally what it’s made for.

    I doesn’t matter which monitor you’re using.

The GPU can push 120 fps on a 60 Hz monitor or on a 240 Hz monitor, it’s all the same for the GPU. What changes is what you’ll see on the monitor.

    120 fps on a 60 Hz monitor is 60fps.

120 fps on a 240 Hz monitor is 120 fps.
