Hello guys, ashamed to say I keep running into this issue. The phone I have been using is Redmi note 10/9 or similarly cheap but fast and good phones. Just only my Redmi note 11 died, and I suspect it is from water damage since my previous one was water damage. I do bring it into bathroom to play music while showering and do drop my phone often. I’ll probably be downvoted from my lack of care, but is my habits really damaging?

Is it a dumb idea to repurchase the same model again despite it having died again? Or invest in more expensive phones.

You’re the kind of person that really needs to spend the money on accidental insurance AND needs an overkill protective case (otterbox, etc)

It depends very much how much you drop it, and on what surface.

I would say I drop mine frequently as well, but it doesn’t break from it.

An expensive phone might last better. Or you might dorp it more severe than me.

Or invest in more expensive phones.

You will drop your more expensive smartphone in the bathroom and nothing else.

I have no idea what water resistance rating that phone has, but regardless using your phone in a steamy often small enclosed room where condensation is every wear is usually not a great idea. Also drops even when no outer damage is visible can cause damage to the components of the mother board. Mix the two together and yeah that’s the reason your phones stop working so soon.
