In case anyone is looking to pick up a 3090, there are several “renewed” ones on sale for around $1000 on Amazon:

and so on.
Renewed != new, but still preferable over used cards by some random seller on ebay.
I want more cheaper ones, even with broken outputs. It would take $4-500 price for me to buy more of them.
Did anyone ever figure out if the vram swap was feasible?
That’s way too much for a 3090. <$700 USD, ~$600 USD fine
You can find used ones on there occasionally for $715 without a warranty or you can spend the extra $200-300 for the renewed to get the warranty it’s whatever you value most.

Is it though?
I got a EVGA 3090 off eBay with over a year of warranty on it. The seller sent me the reciept, and I registered it online.
I feel way better about that than Amazon Renewed with basically no warranty. Amazon just looked the card over and slapped a sticker on it.

In this case, renewed == used. It would be one thing if they were done by the manufacturer and certified but in this case they aren’t. They are “renewed” by random 3rd parties. I rather go with ebay with their money back guarantee. The last time I checked you had 6 months to file a “not as described” claim.
