Hey,

I’ve just found there’s an IP spy cam connected to my network when I was looking at devices connected to the router. I have the IPv4 address and MAC address for the camera. How can I access the feed ? Via the MAC address I found it was a Shenzhen camera and went to https://www.ispyconnect.com/camera/shenzhen but can’t seem to get the feed up.

I suspect my landlord is spying on me.

Any help would be appreciated.

DON’T block it yet. Do some research into what the rtsp stream URL of the camera is, then check if its pointing within your property and if it is then where (bedroom, bathroom etc.).

This info might help: https://www.ispyconnect.com/camera/ipc365 or this https://www.use-ip.co.uk/forum/threads/url-for-generic-ipc365-ip-camera-to-be-used-with-ispy.4312/

Use protocol + IP address + path to view the stream.

Don’t forget, this might be innocuous, you don’t want to be paranoid about it if it’s actually nothing to worry about, e.g. a camera in communal area or outside or something.

Don’t forget to update us with the results.

Even if it’s innocuous, why is it connected to OPs network? Doesn’t exactly seem safe to me, unless the landlord gave them the router and made a pinky promise not to monitor network traffic. But if so, then you got some bigger problems than just a camera.

Yeah I’ve assumed that the landlord owns the router and it was already connected wirelessly. How else would landlord know the WiFi password and get the camera connected if tennant installed router when they moved in.

Which means the landlord has no idea how to properly segregate networks and if this is an apt, most likely EVERYONE is on the same subnet. The security issues here are astounding.
