So I’m having an issue that used to occur often about 8 months ago, and is starting again these last couple days. I do a lot of gaming on my pc, wired in with ethernet. Everytime I try to play an online game now: (Call of Duty, Rocket League, Valorant, etc) anywhere from 30 seconds to 4 minutes, I hit such a bad lag spike it kicks me from the game, or freezes my game up to 2 minutes. My internet provider is Spectrum. Any ideas on how to combat this? My speeds are pretty decent, normally get around 300 mbps while downloading something.
Is someone else on the LAN using more bandwidth than usual?
Also, without a game running, pull up the task manager. Then head over to the performance and select “network”, and see if something running behind the scene is using the network dramatically.
