This is a very basic task and I hope I’m not annoying people by asking that here

But my old phone’s (Honor7x) screen just died, making it not accessible anymore. When I put the micro SD card in my pc, nothing happens. Is there a way to bypass the thing that is preventing me to access my files ?

the card is probably bonded to the phone and formatted in a way that only the phone can read it, but you will have made backups ?

One thing I suspect is the memory card reader may be working. Personally, I’m surprised when they do work. I would try another card reader.

You’re talking about those microSD/SD card to USB adapter ? That’s what I’m using to connect to my pc and even tho the micro SD appears in my files, there is nothing on it.

If the SD card is empty then nothing was being saved to it. You often need to change settings telling the phone to use the card. Like the camera, by default saves to phone unless you change the setting.

Nah, there was plenty of stuff on here, for some reason I couldn’t access it that way, but I could by putting the SD card in an other phone and plugin it to my laptop

is op assuming the phone internal storage is the sd card? cause its not 2 different things. also i get the nagging feeling op thought the sim card was a sd card.
