Dunno if this is the right tag, but I also don’t have much time. But I think my parents may be attempting to track me. I’m an adult so I find this very concerning (I can’t be found by them). I have an iPhone (both my parents do as well), and me and my Mother share a phone service provider. Those are the only 2 ways I can think of them tracking me by. My car is super old so it’s not technologically advanced enough to be tracked I hope. Sometimes I connect to their wifi if that also gives away my location. If anyone knows anything let me know! Also can phone service providers give away your location to family?

If you’re using their wifi they can probably just see you.

If your parents have access to your phone they could have enabled location sharing. That’s easy enough to check.

You say you share providers, does that mean the phones are on the same account? If that’s the case, get your own account.

You could always just do a factory restore if you think they fooled with your phone.

You can also see if there are any airtags that don’t belong to you. There are also apps to detect any trackers near you like Tile.

You can check your OBD port to see if anything is plugged in. If you find something go to the police if you’re the legal owner of the vehicle.

You can also switch off Bluetooth on your phone and check your apps to see which ones are tracking your location.

If you find evidences they are tracking you without your knowledge go to the police.

Unless of course you’re a minor and you’re not telling us something.

If you are a minor trying to run away because you’re in danger please seek the help of a trusted adult like a teacher, or relative.

I don’t understand if you are connected to their wifi why you are worried about being tracked? You are with in range of their wifi…

Car could be tracked in a couple ways. Typically something plugged into the obd2 port under dash. Sometimes some thing stuck to the underbody via magnet. And the third is a service like lojack, you aren’t finding that one trust me unless you know cars.

Now cell phone is different if they have you set up on phone to give location they can track it. If they have you on snapchat it gives a location. Phone company won’t triangulate location for your parents, thats police and emergency only kind of thing.

GPS trackers are super cheap on Amazon. Add a pay as you go SIM card, and they will drop all their tracking data to the owner’s cell phone. They are magnet mounted, and need to receive satellite. So if your car has a plastic side panel, look for them there.

Silly question, did your parents pay for the car, or the iPhone, or the phone service?

No, I bought everything with my own money. And the only thing they even remotely pay for is the phone bill. But even then I cover for them 9 times out of 10. Because they, “can’t afford a $100 bill”.

To stop Sharing Your Location, you must open the Find my app tab.

Choose the Me tab, and then turn off Share My Location.

There is an option to stop sharing with a specific person. In the People tab, pick a contact you want to stop sharing location, scroll down the page and tap on Stop Sharing My Location.

NOTE: This will also stop you finding your phone if you loose it so it’s at your own risk.

Alternatively turn off GPS on your phone.

The problem is AirTags and Galaxy Smart Tags exist, if they had you on an AirTag your phone would alert you if you was being followed, if it’s a Samsung Smart Tag you would need to borrow a Samsung phone and it would do the same, sadly there are also full GPS trackers that can be hidden in or under cars that can’t be easily detected.
