I use an application called Folding at Home. Basically, it uses your CPU to simulate protein dynamics. When I have the application running, my CPU usage generally lingers around 70-75%. Also, the CPU temperature generally stays between 60-65°C. Is it safe to keep the application running for long periods of time? Will that CPU usage percentage and temperature damage anything? Thanks
Modern CPU’s are designed to thermal throttle at 100 degrees C. 60-65 is completely safe.
My gaming laptop will hang out at 85-90°C all day under load. Zero issues.
60 is baseline 80 is still normal 90 is a bit worrying 100 is boiling
It’s still within safe range of temperature under load. I’ll say it’s okay, just give it a rest once a while.

it is not a problem if the cooling of the PCs is adequate. But your wallet will be strained, especially with the current prices for electricity.
