( the external ssd is one that was made to be internal that a bpught a little case to make it extrenal) ( i use it to store steam games) i have a labtop with one nvme ssd slot in it ( with a 256 gb in it) a have a 1 terabyte ssd that id like to put in it but ive had the labtop for a while and id like to transfer the stuff i have on it to the new ssd. i aslo dont know hot this works wiht the operating system (windows 11 if thats important) how would i go about i guess transfering the data and os to the new one or whatever i would have to do

    As long as the SSD is being installed into the same exact system, the easiest option here in my opinion would be to clone your internal SSD to the external SSD, then swap the larger external into the laptop. There are plenty of walkthroughs online about how to do this.

    This article covers cloning a Windows 10 drive, but the same steps can be followed for a Windows 11 install as well.
