i wanted to download an mp4 file of a yt vid and a friend told me that if i type “ss” between “www.” and “youtube” part of the link it’ll take me to a converter, it did.
my question is, is it safe?

Safe just redirects to some ads when u download
Since that’s how invidious.io works, and provided all it does is download a single mp4/movie file to your computer, it should be fine. If they require you to use their “special software” to view the downloaded video, worry

I used to use the Firefox add-on video downloadhelper but I don’t know if it still works with YouTube
