I bought a new laptop (Gigabyte g5 kf) and installed the MSI afterburner just to monitor the temps of the cpu and gpu on my screen … playing valorant on low settings then suddenly i got a bluescreen and my laptop restarted with no problem … i thought that it was caused by the latest windows 11 update (23H2) … i uninstalled the update and tried the pc for 2 hours and nothing happened … then i started the msi afterburner … and again after playing for 10 mins the pc crashed and a bluescreen appeared … canthe msi afterburner cause BSoD ? even though i never undervolted or overclocked my gpu … im using it just to check my temps

canthe msi afterburner cause BSoD ?

Yes, Afterburner uses a really old .dll file from HWiNFO to read sensors and clock speeds which in some rare cases causes a BSOD.

You can try using Open Hardware Monitor or HWiNFO instead.

    Afterburner just uses hwinfo+RTSS.

I can’t believe you made a post for this rather than troubleshooting what is probably just an unstable driver
