My ASUS USB-AC53 Nano claims to have 802.11ac wireless mode option but only has b, g and n. This is frustrating as I’ve recently found that the reason for my slow internet only on my PC is because of 2.4Ghz, and I cannot use 5Ghz with b, g or n. Is Win11 hiding 5Ghz from me or am I missing something? I’ve literally wasted hours of my life waiting for crap to load and trying to find the solution. Anything would help.

Full story:

When I go to Device Manager, I cannot find the preferred band setting, therefore can’t use 5Ghz. I’ve found that to have 5Ghz, I need 802.11ac but I don’t have it.

I read some comment to not make a dupplicate, sorry if this is one:

Maybe the antenna of the USB-AC53 is so small that the 5Ghz can’t be “see” and that also explain the slow 2.4Ghz.

Did you try with the PC really close to the Access point for testing purpose ?
